Pacific Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

About Appointments

When you arrive at our Consulting Rooms (Sydney Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) for your appointment, you will be greeted by our friendly staff and asked your name. Once you have been registered on our list we will then request your x-ray (OPG) and your referral from your referring dentist or GP. In some cases the referring Surgeon has already sent this information to us directly and we have that recorded in your notes. All new patients must then fill in a two-sided form, which requires personal and medical information; this information is all kept strictly confidential and is entered into the computer system.

You will then be introduced to your Surgeon who will inform you of the recommended treatment required for your particular situation. This will be discussed during your consultation. Once a treatment course is determined by your Surgeon and yourself, a decision is made whether you will require a Local Anaesthetic, General Anaesthetic or IV Sedation. If you require a Local Anaesthetic our staff will schedule you an appointment in our rooms and you will recieve a written quote for estimation of costs. You will be asked to settle your account at the end of your consultation. If you require a General Anaesthetic or IV Sedation your personal information will be forwarded to the selected day surgery / hospital (please see links on our admissions page) to book in for surgery and you will receive a written quote for estimation of costs.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
